  • Our first Repair Cafe

    What a brilliant first Stockton Heath Repair Cafe at St Thomas’ Church Hall 👏

    A huge thank you to everyone who gave their time today – from our repairers, cafe team, cake bakers, runners and welcomers. It really was a proper community effort and the support was fantastic to see.

    We completed 48 repairs throughout the day, with only a few sadly beyond repair. Quite a few visitors also went away with advice and guidance on parts needed, ready to return next month.

    From a vintage food mixer and dehumidifier to clocks, digital radios, lamps, hedge trimmers, bikes, zips, leather belts and even glasses arms that four opticians couldn’t fix… there was a real mix of repairs taking place throughout the day 🔧

    It was also lovely to see people popping in simply to find out what the Repair Cafe is all about, enjoy the atmosphere and stop for cake and coffee ☕🍰

    Thank you as well for your donations. Everything raised goes back into helping cover the set up and running costs of the Repair Cafe.

    Our next Stockton Heath Repair Cafe will take place on 20 June

  • Second volunteers’ meeting

    We had our second volunteer session on 27th March to prepare the team (and organisers) to create the layout of the hall for our first Repair Cafe on Saturday 16th May – we have lots of space which is fantastic. St Thomas’ Church have continued to support the cafe and will volunteer to run the cafe for us, for which we are really grateful. Donations of cakes will be most gratefully received and we’ll be offering tea, coffee and cake at £1 so that we can support the cafe. We hope to receive visitors with repairs which we plan to be complete on the day, but if you’d like to visit to enjoy the atmosphere and cake and tea/coffee all are welcome!

    We’ll update here for our next Volunteer Welcome session one evening in the Church Hall.
